Participatory audiovisual creation project where teenagers develop a fiction-documentary series inspired by their experiences and urban contexts. The collective process uses community television and the Internet to share youth stories about coexistence, diversity, and everyday life in the city.

Challenge:

Narratives about urban youth are often constructed from external perspectives that simplify their experiences. It was necessary to create spaces where young people themselves could tell their stories and reflect on their social and cultural environment, actively participating in new representations of youth in diverse urban contexts.

Proposal:

A collective audiovisual creation process was launched, based on the collaborative writing of scripts derived from the participants’ life stories. The series combined fiction and documentary with non-professional actors. A total of 63 episodes were produced, broadcast weekly by the Xarxa de Televisions Locals de Catalunya and shared online, accompanied by documentation of the creative process. It received the award for Best Community Program at MAC 2009.
