Many stories that sustain everyday life in Barcelona—especially those of older migrant women or women with diverse trajectories—are left out of institutional narratives and shared urban memory. The challenge was to create a space for recognition and cultural production where these voices could engage with heritage, build meaning, and leave a public mark based on their own experiences.
A multi-week process was developed combining cultural mediation and literary creation: dialogue with works from the museum’s collections, collective reading of Intraducibles (En Palabras, 2024), exchange of life stories, oral memory, and creative writing exercises. The work resulted in memory pieces (photographs, personal objects, oral accounts, and texts) compiled into a collective book-object, presented in a public event with a live reading by its authors.
