Escena Migrant

Escena Migrant is a training initiative promoted within the Fes! Cultura program, aimed at artists from diverse backgrounds who are already developing their practice in the field of performing arts. Its objective is to strengthen their professional capacities, expand their opportunities for circulation, and contribute to a more plural, inclusive, and representative performing arts ecosystem.

The program offers intensive training and networking sessions focused on four key areas for professional development: communication of performing arts projects, the use of technologies in contemporary creation, funding strategies, and access to production and programming circuits.

The sessions combine technical content with participatory dynamics, creating a space for practical learning and direct dialogue with recognized professionals from the theatre sector. Over three consecutive days, participants have the opportunity to present their projects, exchange experiences, address specific questions, and strengthen their professional networks.

The first block is dedicated to communication and dissemination strategies, including tools to develop an effective artistic and sales dossier. The second focuses on designing interactive stage experiences, exploring the intersection between digital technologies and contemporary creation. Finally, the third block addresses production, funding, and the circulation of performances, with sessions aimed at identifying available resources, accessing performing arts markets, and professionalizing distribution.

Escena Migrant was created with the intention of recognizing and promoting the existing talent among migrant and racialized artists, generating real conditions for access and visibility within the Catalan performing arts landscape. It represents another step in Connectats’ commitment to promoting cultural diversity as a central value -not an exception- in cultural policies and structures.

The program is carried out in collaboration with Nau Ivanow, a reference space for independent performing arts creation, and is supported by the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia.

The most recent edition of Escena Migrant took place in November 2025.
